I’ve just downloaded the free flashlight app for my iPhone. It is so cool but the teen did so much eye-rolling at its alleged pointlessness, I thought she might actually do some ocular damage. Here are thirteen situations where a person might be deeply grateful for their flashlight app.1. In a power failure – you could use your flashlight app to locate your real flashlight and candles.
2. Finding your earring under the bed.
3. Reading your auto club membership number on a dark street when your car battery is flat.
4. If you’re handy, fixing your car (for example, changing your tyre) at night.
5. Reading the menu under the table in a dim function room.
6. Poking around under the house (though you won’t catch me under there with all the spiders).
7. Using tools for fiddly jobs, such as inside a computer.
8. Reading in bed when others are asleep.
9. Making scary ghosty faces around the campfire.
10. Slotting your key in your resort cabin door when it’s dark and you’re inebriated.
11. Finding your clothes when sneaking off from a one night stand.
12. If you're a cat burglar and you're trying to rob a house at night.
13. Showing off – your friends will love your new app (as long as they're not jaded teens).
